Academy Sports Outdoors is an American discount chain
for sporting goods. The company's offices are located in the Katy Distribution
Center in Texas near Katy and west of Houston in unregistered western Harris
County. It was a private company owned by the Gochman family for 74 years and
was bought by the investment company Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co in May
2011.
History
The Foundation of Sports and Outside showed up in 1938
